A thousand miles in 24 hours—one of those motorcycling milestones a lot of us think about, but not many of us ever get around to doing. You have a chance for this year’s Rally in Springfield, Missouri, to not only do a SaddleSore 1000, but to get your certification on the spot when you arrive!

REGISTRATION LINK COMING SOON!

The requirements are simple and few. First, you must register and pay no later than May 31, 2022. This gives us enough time to print your certificate and make sure we get it to the rally for you to pick up.  Second, you must start from one of the four below cities, which we have already determined are far enough away from Springfield to allow a 1,000-mile ride no matter what roads you might take. Third, you must check in at the MOA Ambassador’s Booth in the main indoor vendor area between 10 AM and 6 PM on Thursday, June 16.

All documentation requirements for the SaddleSore 1000 are in effect, so be sure to refresh your memory about them at https://www.ironbutt.com/themerides/ssseries/. When you arrive in Springfield and check in at the MOA Ambassadors booth, your clock will officially stop and you’ll be asked to email your receipt photos to us. Once we review your photos, we’ll hand over your SS1000 certification and materials and you can enjoy the rest of your rally knowing you’ve achieved something only a small percentage of riders ever achieve.

Start cities for the 2022 BMW MOA National Rally SaddleSore 1000 Ride-In are:

  • Northeast: York, Pennsylvania
  • Southeast: Ortega, Florida
  • Northwest: Buffalo, Wyoming
  • Southwest: Holbrook, Arizona

You’ll be required to present a receipt from a gas station, convenience store or restaurant in one of these locations with the time and date printed on the receipt to start your 24-hour clock. Time-stamped receipts from all other stops are required as well to receive your certification.  Your clock doesn’t officially stop until you check in at the Ambassadors booth, where we’ll provide you with two witness signatures attesting to your arrival time.

You can, of course, do a SaddleSore 1000 to the rally from any other location, but we won’t be able to provide your certification at the rally; you’ll have to submit your materials through the regular Iron Butt process as outlined on their website. We will be happy to witness your arrival and set your official stop time, however.
